"You Will Never...": Somy's Cryptic Note On Being Abused By A "Huge Star"

Former actress Somy Ali has been vocal about the challenges she has faced in her life, particularly during her time in Bollywood. In a new post, Somy Ali, without taking names, has shared a detailed note about suffering “every form of torture and abuse” at the hands of a “huge star.” She said, “I will be told to take down posts. I will be questioned of my sanity. I will be gossiped about having a drinking problem (the irony) yet I will go on because you have not gone through all that humiliation, and every form of torture and abuse while no one sided with you because your abuser's a huge star and you are friends with him. He can make or break your career. You believed your friends and assumed would take a stand for you and knew everything because you literally told them and they witnessed it many a times.”

“Might I add a very good human being stated that this abuser is a very “pyara insaan” Remember I am quoting an actor whom I have the utmost respect for, but I also know why he's in a bind. Point in case here, you will never shut me up and this too will have an ending, a horror movie with a very happy ending,” she said. Addressing the online trolling she is often subjected to, Somy Ali said, “And before you troll pitiful souls start shooting your profanities my way, just know that I do not read them and don't have time for it. You did not have to live my life. You were not behind those closed doors and you have the audacity to claim to know my life, my incidents and all that I endured. What I experienced, be it good or bad, you don't know it. You are merely speculating and being cruel to a human being who has done nothing to you. Give this some thought please, not just for me, but to many other individuals being bullied online. Let's put an end to this, please. It has to stop.”

While Somy Ali did not name anyone in the caption, she added the hashtags Salman Khan, Harvey Weinstein, and Jiah Khan, among others.

For the unversed, Somy Ali and Salman Khan have dated in the past and details of their tumultuous relationship have been widely reported. Meanwhile, the late actress Jiah Khan was found dead in her Juhu residence in 2013. Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, on the other hand, is a convicted sex offender with 80 women accusing him of sexual harassment.

Somy Ali has also limited comments under the post.

In 2021, Somy Ali, in an interview with Zoom TV, spoke about her relationship with superstar Salman Khan.  “It's been 20 years since I broke up with him. He cheated on me and I broke up with him and left. It's as simple as that,” she said, adding, “Not [learned] a single thing from Salman, but I learned a lot of good things from his parents. The biggest thing I learned is that they never saw religion and treated every human being equally. Their home was open to everyone and love permeated throughout their house, especially from Salma [Salman's mother] aunty.”

Somy Ali is known for her work in films such as Krishan Avtaar, Yaar Gaddar, Anth, Teesra Kaun, Andolan and Mafia, among others.
